Main questions to be answered: What the latest insights regarding are the technical challenges within the field of Human Robot Interaction?

Additional questions: How can HRI be enhanced with AI?

Additional questions 2: What are the most relevant SSH aspects for HRI in healthcare to be taken into account?

Workshop Description: The healthcare sector is currently suffering from a staffing crisis resulting in high workloads for the healthcare professionals. Robots and AI have a high potential for releasing staff, offering collaborative solutions and increasing the accuracy for effective treatment. However, the healthcare sector also bears unique challenges regarding the deployment of cobots, related to highly sensitive settings, unstable and unpredictable surroundings with high risk, un-technical staff and fragile patients. Specialised HRI concepts enriched with AI will need to be developed to overcome these challenges. During the session, the latest insights regarding the technical challenges of HRI in healthcare will be shared. In addition, relevant SSH aspects related to the HRI concepts in healthcare and the opportunities offered by AI will be discussed interactively with the audience.
