Visionary perspective on healthcare robotics in clinical practice

By 14 march

Track: Healthcare

Date and Time: 14 Mar 2023 14:30-15:50

Organiser: Françoise Siepel

Main questions to be answered: What are the future perspectives on robotics in healthcare from a technology, clinical and innovation perspective?

Workshop Description: Healthcare Robotics is an advancing field including opportunities in diagnostics, intervention, rehabilitation and supportive applications. Embedding robotic applications in a clinical setting has been shown to be challenging. Inspired by developments in manufacturing robotics has turned out a valuable technology for supporting innovations in various positions of the patient’s pathway / healthcare continuum. Therefore, this workshop will be focussing on the key trends for the upcoming 10 years. This workshop will give a visionary perspective and focusses on clinical needs and requirements for technology to embed innovations into clinical practice, which will be presented in paper form for interaction during the workshop. This workshop will be interesting for TG members, clinicians, researchers, engineers, technology providers, and all interested in the topic.

Intended Outcome: Workshop covering material new to ERF that the Robotics community should engage with, Workshop expected to create a roadmap or white paper, Workshops engaging non-roboticists to understand needs/goals (policy, commercial, technical), Improved paper

Approach: Agenda (80 min): Introduction – Connection TG focused on application (5 min) Presentation article (20) Presentations perspectives (4x 5 min) including clinical, sme etc. (20 min) Interactive session with board to optimize the presented article (25 min) Wrap up (10)
